The Artemis Mission

The Artemis mission is NASA's ambitious program to return humans to the Moon for the first time since 1972, with the ultimate goal of establishing a sustainable lunar presence and preparing for future missions to Mars. Artemis II, the first crewed flight of the program, will send four astronauts on a 10-day journey around the Moon and back to Earth, scheduled for March 2026. This mission serves as the final test before Artemis III, which is currently expected no earlier than 2027–2028, and will aim to land on the lunar south pole.
